Local Net Information

Traffic nets are an important part of amateur radio. It's important that amateur operators check in to nets on a regular bases. Nets insure that the amateur operator's equipment is operating properly. Nets teach the amateur operator about the capabilities of his equipment and station location. How to operate in a organized net group. etc... There are many benefits to participating in amateur radio nets. But most of all, they keep you informed about the amateur community and keeps your operating skills honed!

Net Control Tools

The Amateur Radio Newsline is transmittered on the Saturday Night JARS net. A new issue of the Amateur Radio Newsline is available on Friday of each week. At which time it may be downloaded for retransmission on the JARS net. To down load direct, "Right Click" on this link and use the "Save Target As..." Then save to the appropiate audio file folder on your computer.

Audacity is a free, open source software for recording and editing sounds. It is available for Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows, GNU/Linux, and other operating systems.

I use Audacity to insert my "Call ID" for the JARS net into the Amateur Radio Newsline prior to transmitting the newsline. This makes the newsline transmission seamless and easy to transmit.

Audacity is an excellent audio softwave and has many uses. It is free to anyone to use.
